Faculty of Humanities

When the College of Education became Srinakharinwirot University, the school of Humanities, which had originally been part of the Faculty of Social Sciences, was expanded into the Faculty of Humanities. August 22, 1975 has been celebrated ever since as the birthday of the Faculty of Humanities.

The Faculty of Humanities is commissioned to offer the nation’s graduates internationally oriented programs. The faculty draws on different sources of knowledge, both in and outside the country to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Students of the Faculty of Humanities graduate not only as experts in their chosen fields, but also as responsible members of society with a keen sense of morality.

The mission of the Faculty of Humanities is to provide students with a sense of quality, efficiency and academic excellence. The graduates are able to employ theories in practice and become analytical, creative and independent. They understand themselves and have compassion for their fellow human beings. They have positive attitudes toward service and are proud to be Thai.

There are six departments in the faculty: Library and Information Science, Linguistics, Philosophy and Religion, Psychology, Thai and Oriental Languages, and Western Languages. The faculty also offers an interdisciplinary program in Languages for Careers.
